The problem of many tourist regions is that even the people who live there do not always know about the local attractions.
The Szigetközi adventure map has been completed, which presents 101 tourist attractions between Mosonmagyaróvár and Pannonhalma, helping visitors to find programs and opportunities.
Hungary is full of more beautiful natural values and tourist regions, but only a few places make use of their potential, said the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for active Hungary on Thursday in Győr, at the presentation of the adventure map.
Máriusz Révész emphasized: the problem of many tourist regions is that even the people who live there do not always know about the local attractions.
A region can develop and provide better services if the tourism actors know each other and work together, he emphasized. He added that their mission is to persuade the actors of the sector to join forces.
Máriusz Révész recalled that the first adventure map that summarized the possibilities of a region was the Lake Tisza adventure map. Following the success of this, the Active and Ecotourism Development Center edited the Szigetközi adventure map in cooperation with local actors.
The map is printed in 72,000 copies and is also available online on the center's website.
On one side of the document, the attractions, programs, accommodation or restaurants are listed on the map, while on the back of the publication are their brief descriptions and internet contacts.
Zoltán Németh, the president of the county municipality of Győr-Moson-Sopron, emphasized that new opportunities have opened up in the Szigetközi and Pannonhalm areas in the past decade, among other things, with the construction of bicycle paths and the fact that there is water again in the Danube branch system.
The discovery of natural features was also helped by the coronavirus epidemic, because people were looking for places where there are no crowds, he added.
