According to our survey, the overwhelming majority do not agree that removing the rainbow from the Ferencváros bench would be vandalism, but they also do not support Gergely Karácsony selling off the candelabra of the Chain Bridge.
We would like to get to know the opinions of our readers in a new form on the civilek.info portal, which belongs to the Civil Solidarity Forum - Civil Solidarity Non-profit Foundation (CÖF-CÖKA), and is considered a news channel for citizens. To this end, we plan to provide voting opportunities in our articles many times in the future in order to express opinions more simply, transparently and accurately.
We have already asked our first two questions about the topics that have moved public life the most in recent weeks.
We couldn't ignore the history of the rainbow bench in Ferencváros, which was repainted countless times in the past few days, wanted to be preserved, and finally disappeared. In our poll, which took place on July 11, 2023, we were still looking for the answer to whether, according to our readers, a crime was committed when the rainbow-colored bench was smeared with the colors of the Hungarian flag by unknown persons.
One of the Soros organizations filed a complaint for the crime of vandalism in connection with the case.
Our representative survey on July 19 revealed that there is a huge consensus among those who believe that bench painting is not a crime.
A total of 2,163 people voted, of which 97 percent thought so (2,108 votes), while 3 percent claimed that vandalism and thus a crime had been committed (55 votes).
As is known, Gergely Karácsony and the left-leaning city administration methodically bankrupted Hungary's richest settlement. The mayor announced - since presumably now every HUF counts for them - that the 14 candelabra of the Széchenyi Chain Bridge will be sold by auction.
On July 12, 2023, we asked our readers whether they agreed with selling our national heritage, and our representative survey showed an overwhelming result on July 19.
A total of 2,379 people voted, of which 99 percent disagreed with the sale (2,349 votes), while only 1 percent (30 votes) were in favor of "yes".
It is extremely important for us to give a voice to the opinions of civilians and to get to know the position of Hungarians on the topics that define public life, so we will regularly apply for similar polls on the civilek.info page, trusting that we can provide an authentic picture of public opinion in this way.
Don't be left out of expressing your opinion either!
