The Hungarian Ambassador Csaba Balogh was invited to the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday to give an explanation for the comment made by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in his speech in Tusnádfürdő about the Hungarians in Slovakia, in which the Prime Minister mentioned "torn off parts of the country", confirmed the press department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when contacted by the Slovak state news agency TASR.

"Czechoslovakia (and later Slovakia) and Hungary are both successor states of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. In this way, nothing could be separated from today's Hungary," said the Slovak diplomatic ministry, adding that

According to Pozsony, the spread of such narratives "pointlessly goes against good neighborly relations and stability in our region".

The ministry emphasized that directly or indirectly questioning the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Slovakia is completely unacceptable.

"Therefore, we reiterate that we are interested in normal and peaceful relations with Hungary, respecting and taking into account mutually sensitive issues. The current statements of the Hungarian Prime Minister do not point in this direction"

- emphasized the Slovak Ministry.
