Compared to last year, there was a significant increase in the number of technical, engineering, IT and teaching majors.

Balázs Hankó, the state secretary responsible for innovation and higher education at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, emphasized at the central results-waiting event held in Budapest Park: the best enrollment in the last ten years is the current one.

In his welcoming speech, the politician said: in the past period, they worked to ensure that as many as possible of the 126,449 applicants could attend universities "where everything, but everything comes true".

"A community of three hundred thousand awaits you, where the main slogan is to be a good university student," the state secretary told the young people, then continued: "You are the future János Neumann, Ernői Rubik or even Katalinja Karikó."

Renáta Vanó, the vice president of higher education at the Office of Education, wished the applicants that their dreams would come true and that they would all be able to start their higher education studies in one of the courses of their choice from September.

"There will be difficult moments, but overcome them, go through the university with clenched teeth and fists until you get your diploma," Renáta Vanó encouraged the applicants waiting for the results, noting that most of the country was nervous along with the admissions students in the past period.

In this year's general higher education admission procedure, more than 126,000 people submitted applications. Compared to last year, there was a significant increase in the number of technical, engineering, IT and teaching majors. Many more people applied to rural universities than before, and more people from disadvantaged regions also tried.

The students received a direct SMS notification from 8 p.m., and at the same time, they can find out about the point limits on the felvi.hu website, but the results can also be tracked on Facebook.

This year, the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, the Office of Education (OH) and HÖOK Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft. organized the Pont ott party in the capital's Budapest Park, where many higher education institutions and the OH also awaited those interested with an information desk.

Events waiting for the results were organized in many locations in the country, in addition to the capital, Pont ott Party is also held in Eger, Miskolc, Debrecen, Pécs, Szeged, Győr, Kecskemét, and Salgótarján.
