According to István Hollik, the tightening of visas is unbecoming behavior on the part of the United States.
The government protects the Hungarians living in Subcarpathia by not releasing the data of those with dual citizenship, said the communications director of Fidesz, after the USA introduced visa sanctions against the Hungarians.
István Hollik emphasized that the Hungarian government did the right thing when it did not interpret the request of the United States as an order.
"This behavior on the part of the United States is not worthy of an ally," said István Hollik, Fidesz's communications director, regarding the fact that the United States introduced visa sanctions against Hungarian citizens. The politician called it an expectation for the Hungarian government to protect the interests of citizens living here and beyond the border.
- The government protects Hungarians living across the border, mainly in Transcarpathia, by not releasing the data of Hungarians with dual citizenship - he noted. The Fidesz politician indicated that there is no guarantee that the United States will not pass on these data to Ukraine, and Fidesz-KDNP considers it correct that the government did not interpret the US request as an order.
- Hungary's policy can be summarized as no migration, no gender, no war (no migration, no gender and no war), while the policy of the United States is pro-gender, pro-war and pro-migration. In terms of the core values of governance, the Biden administration thinks the opposite of us, so you can't be surprised at the pressure, stated István Hollik.
According to him, if we take into account that there will be a presidential election in the USA next year, it is not surprising that such conflicts are used for political gain.
- The relationship between the United States and Hungary is worth more than being sacrificed by the American, democratic party administration on the altar of party political matters - he recorded.
Regarding how our country can defend itself against further pressure attempts, the politician said: the Hungarian people have given Fidesz-KDNP a very strong parliamentary mandate, and the government is extremely stable, so pressure attempts will die to ashes.
"Our American friends know exactly that we will never comply with a request that is against the Hungarian national interest," he emphasized.
