Ádám Schmidt, the state secretary responsible for sports, and Balázs Németh, the general manager of Budapest 2023 Zrt., invited the Hungarian athletes who won last week's World Cup titles to the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, starting on August 19.
"We have gone through an unusual consultation with Balázs Németh. We invited the world champion athletes who achieved extraordinary success the previous week here, to the beautiful National Athletic Center (NAK), to the World Athletics Championships, so that we can support the Hungarian successes here together."
Ádám Schmidt said in a video published on his Facebook page on Saturday morning.
In the recording made at NAK, Balázs Németh revealed to which day the World Cup winners were invited.
"We are waiting for the world champions on August 22, at the evening program when we can support Luca Kozák together, and the world champions will be sitting in the best seats at the finish line. And of course Youhuu will be here too" (Mascot of the Athletics World Championships)
