Only a few years after the Hungarian government's stance on migration caused great indignation in Germany, the Germans quickly realized who was right.

It hasn't even been ten years since Angela Merkel uttered the famous phrase "Wir schaffen das", and refugees began to flow into Germany in the order of tens of thousands a day. The Germans carried "Refugees welcome" posters.

Only Hungary decided differently: Orbán built a fence and "said that he would not allow this at home".

This was the first time that the foundations of united Europe were shaken, writes the Slovak newspaper Hlavné Správy, which also points out that the calculation that doctors and engineers would have come in the migration wave did not work out.

The Hungarians became a disgrace to the union, whose leaders could not help but despise the Hungarian government, and from all sides it was possible to hear that Hungary should be punished in some democratic and humanitarian way, the paper reminds.

However, the article then turns to how many terrorist attacks have been committed by migrants, giving examples of the killer truck at the Christmas market, rape at New Year's celebrations and many other cases, which, according to the author, did not even make it into the "local news, the truth-telling thanks to the media".

"The mood in Germany has changed. Today, no one speaks with disdain about the Hungarian fence. On the contrary. Many new fences have been built," reports Hlavné Správy.
