- The Orbán regime is celebrating itself at the opening ceremony of the Athletics World Cup in Budapest, therefore not a single invited politician of the Democratic Coalition will participate in it - said Ferenc Gyurcsány's party. As written,
neither the parliament representatives of the DK, nor the deputy mayor of Budapest, Anett Bősz, nor the district mayors of the DK will go to the opening of the international sports competition.
As they said, the Democratic Coalition is not willing to celebrate the Orbán regime, which is strangling Hungarians, including those from Budapest, with austerity measures. "That's why we will not talk together with Fidesz party soldiers and billionaires," they announced.
Although they will not take part in the opening ceremony, they have announced to everyone's reassurance that the DK wishes all the athletes of the Athletics World Cup good luck and, according to their claim, they support the Hungarian team wholeheartedly.
With this, the DK went against Mayor Gergely Karácsony, who finally decided that he would definitely go to the opening of the World Cup and even set foot in the stadium.
Kiss Ambrus spoke about this earlier, then the deputy mayor said that if the government keeps its promise, the mayor will go to the stadium, if not, he will demonstrate next to the stadium.
