For years, Sweden has been held in check by gang wars, which the left-liberal press, which has sunk into its comfortable life, has so far refused to face, but now the chief of police has personally pressed the alarm.

An unprecedented, bloody gang war and a wave of showdowns are taking place in Sweden, the Swedish national police chief declared, after several fatal shootings took place in the Scandinavian country within a week.

"Recently, an unprecedented number of murders and bombings have been committed in Sweden," police chief Anders Thornberg emphasized at a press conference on Wednesday.

"Several boys between the ages of 13 and 15 died, the mother of a criminal was killed in her home, a young man was shot dead on his way to work in Uppsala," the head of the Swedish police listed.

The people who ordered the murders are often found abroad, Thornberg added.

There have been several shootings in Sweden this week: four in Uppsala, famous for its university, two of which were fatal, and two in Stockholm, where a 13-year-old boy was killed.

In Sweden, the gang war for control over the arms and drug trade has been going on for years.

According to Swedish police data, 90 bombings and 101 attempted bombings were recorded in 2022. By August 15, 2023, 109 explosions had already been registered in the country this year. Conflicts between criminal gangs claimed the lives of many innocent people, Thornberg emphasized.

"Citizens are afraid and uncertainty is growing. For this reason, we have raised the terror threat level in Sweden," added the Swedish police chief.

"We have arrested several people and confiscated weapons, including in Uppsala, where the situation is very serious," underlined Ulf Johansson, a police official in the city 70 kilometers north of the capital, at a press conference on Wednesday.

In 2022, 391 shootings were recorded in Sweden, of which 62 were fatal, compared to 45 people shot dead a year earlier.
