Will we be there for the decisions, will we sit there when the cards are dealt, or will we just mess around again? A community of half a million people could make history if they were brave enough.

My journey rarely takes me to my narrower homeland, to where Nógrád and Gömör hug each other. In my memories, there are winding, potholed, and narrow roads from Fülek to Medvesalja, but now you can't even see the road, so many machines are working. Suddenly, I don't even understand what is happening, that this region has also been put on the map of what needs to be renovated. The answer is simple though. In November last year, the county election brought resounding success to Gömör and Nógrád.

The Hungarian representatives are present with the strongest faction in the county parliament, so there is already a chance to make up for the many decades of lag. Saturday's parliamentary election is no different.

It has been almost a decade and a half that Hungarian interest representation has not been part of the national blood circulation. We watch the political games like kibitzers, and we helplessly allow them to decide over our heads, if the interests so desire, also about things that concern us. While brighter than the sun, weakness offers only the prospect of dissolution.

Of course, it wasn't a decade and a half of inactivity. A lot of energy was wasted due to the Hungarian-mixed opposition. It's hard to imagine where we could be today if, in 2009, the Bélá Bugárs did not give up the Hungarian path for the mixed race, succumbing to the lure of a power game online, or simply because of human frailty. split the forces.

The burden of original sin belongs to a narrow group, but the burden of division belongs to all of us, and we paid a heavy price for it, wasted fifteen years, which the voters were mostly tired of.

That is why many of us believed in the reunification of the parties, with all its fallibility, despite the debatable construction and bad compromises. Of course, one could not count on the fact that the revenge project would come to life after the election success of last year, in November, lest it be fueled by good motives. Because the historical crime can be committed a second time! We're used to it, Bugár always reactivates if he can against the community. Some separatists boarded him, and with him on the blue steamer, which no longer leads anywhere, so the revenge project becomes a bankruptcy project. A lie will not become the truth, no matter how many times they tell it, they did not leave because of György Gyimesi, he only served as an excuse. The subtlety of the Sólymosés is not only incomprehensible, it is also incomprehensible, since before 2020 they did not give much attention to who they fall in love with.

To create confusion, the separatists' press talks about several Hungarian parties and tries to sell what happened as division. There is a Hungarian party, the Alliance. In the shadow of the Slovak majority, the Sólymosés and Simonés, even more diluted than the mixed majority, are only hunting for Hungarian votes. Without a chance. They can no longer appeal to a significant segment of the electorate.

Of course, the political rubbish dump also needs to be worked on. They completely relegate themselves to the past, only the memory of the historical crime remains behind them.

The Association, on the other hand, has now received a historic chance. There are no longer two large blocs facing each other, the party is the sole advocate of Hungarian interests, demands and expectations. It has undergone purification, since its establishment it has not been as unified as it is today. Orbán-phobia, uncritical worship of Ukraine and rainbow socks no longer strain the party, the leaders of the party think alike about highlands, belonging to the Hungarian nation, the war, gender, there are no disputes over values, only common interests: above all, to put the upland Hungarians.

Krisztián Forró steered the ship in the right direction, he steers with certainty, Gyimesi does his work in the boat with incredible determination, and everyone is pulling in the same direction: this can be seen in recent weeks. The momentum and tone of the campaign, the topics raised, the goals set, the program described, the mobilization, now all work together, and this can give strength and faith to our community. The now you can succeed feeling!

We see where the Slovak parties are, political culture means lack of culture, they are busy smearing each other, beheading and denouncing each other. At their campaign meetings held in the southern parts of the country, they promise anything, but it is enough just to show their programs, we do not exist for any party.

For them, subsequent land confiscation, a citizenship law, or the extension of minority rights would not solve, especially not in our favor, they do not even feel that the economic catch-up of the southern areas is important.

We have to fight our own battles. Everyone should consider this. We'll be there for the decisions, we'll sit there when the cards are dealt, or we'll just mess around again. A community of half a million people could write history if they were brave enough, and we have been struggling for years.

Orbán Viktor Tusványoson called it a weak performance that Hungarians in the highlands cannot organize themselves, cannot achieve representation. "More than this is needed if someone wants to work for the country in the separated parts of the country," said the Prime Minister. Straight talk, an important message for all of us. It's our turn, we have to do it: for the country, for our community, and for ourselves.
