British actor Michael Gambon, who played Professor Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films, has died. Gambon was 82 years old.
On behalf of the actor's wife and son, Fergus Gambon, publicist Clair Dobbs issued a statement, which was quoted by Reuters, in which it was stated:
are saddened to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon.
“Beloved husband and father Michael passed away peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus by his side following complications from pneumonia. We ask that you respect our privacy during this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love," the statement read.
