In the context of the Tree of the Year contest, we were not looking for the biggest or oldest tree, but the one that is important to the nominees for some reason: it has a local story connected to it, offers a meeting point - or plays any other role in the everyday life of the people living there.
The jury selected the finalists from among the nominated trees. They participate in the public final, in which the tree with the most public votes wins the title of Tree of the Year. The winner of the Hero Tree title and the special prize of the National Forestry Association are also among the finalists, but which trees will receive these awards will only be revealed after the public vote.
You can cast your vote for your favorite tree until October 1, 2023! The results will be published on October 17, as part of an award ceremony.
