Despite the piles of garbage and the garbage can chaos, Mártha Imre also received a huge bonus.

Based on the decision of Mayor Gergely Karácsony, Imre Mártha, the head of the Budapest utility company, can also receive a huge bonus, the billionaire businessman can thus become richer by another eight million forints. At the end of last year, the Karácsonys only gave extra money to the garbage collectors, i.e. the employees of the company led by Mártha, when the waste was already piled up in the mountains in the capital due to a multi-day pause in garbage collection, recalls Magyar Nemzet .

Almost exactly one year to the day, the cockroach chaos began in Budapest. In the first days of October 2022, the garbage haulers belonging to the Budapest Public Utilities came to the point that they could not tolerate their poor wage conditions any longer and did not empty the garbage cans for days citing the faults of the garbage trucks. The capital led by Gergely Karácsony first claimed that it could not raise wages because of the government, but this did not impress anyone for two reasons.

On the one hand, because at that time Világgazdaság wrote, supported by numbers, that the state did not give less, but actually gave more money to the capital than required, and on the other hand, the stinking garbage in the bins kept piling up.

The head of the Budapest utility company, Imre Mártha, also entered into negotiations with the workers, but one of the trash delegation's comments made the situation sufficiently clear: according to them, the clothes Mártha wore that day could have cost as much as several months' salary of the employees sitting there.

The string could not be pulled any further, the Karácsonys, citing lack of money, reached an agreement after three days.

According to the latest document, although he is not a garbage man, Imre Mártha himself received a kind of Christmas present. According to Magyar Nemzet, Mayor Gergely Karácsony decided in the middle of July this year that the utility manager should receive a bonus based on his work last year.

Of course, it is not as modest as the garbage truck workers, Mártha can get 40 percent of his annual basic salary, 7.842 million HUF.

It is especially exciting in Karácsony's decision that the multi-million sum must be paid at the expense of the budget of the company, that is, Budapest Public Works. So Imre Mártha can get extra money from the budget of the company whose workers went on strike a year ago due to low wages.

The other question is that Mártha does not really need this allowance based on the news reports about him. The press reported in detail about his multibillion-dollar real estate, formerly known as József Prisztás, his expensive watch collection, his high-value car and his various vacations. Many articles were written about his American and other real estate businesses.

Imre Mártha is not the only one to whom Gergely Karácsony, who mentions a serious lack of money almost every day and demands support from the government, has been allowed to pay a hefty bonus, as previously reported by Civilek.info.

Karácsony secretly allowed the payment of outrageously high bonuses to the managers of the bankrupt BKK and BKV
