told i24NEWS about the brutal scenes that awaited Israeli forces when they arrived in Gaza border villages after the Hamas terror attack.
"This is not a war, not a battlefield, you see the babies, the mother, the father in their bedroom, in the shelter, as the terrorists killed them," said Veruv.
"This is not a war, not a battlefield, but a massacre"
the major general repeated what he had seen. "This is an act of terrorism."
"I've never seen anything like this in my life"
Veruv admitted when journalists entered the area for the first time since it was cleared of Hamas terrorists.
"This is something we heard from our grandmothers and grandfathers during pogroms in Europe and other places," recalled the Israeli general.
"This has never happened in modern history"
Veruv said.
I24News' correspondent on the ground visited the kibbutz and spoke to Israeli soldiers who reported that they found headless babies at the site after the massacre by the terrorists.
Update: an I24News reporter spoke with one of the Israeli commanders, who said that at least forty (!) babies' bodies were found at the scene.
