The new initiative, which has already been joined by nearly 30 countries, is spreading on social media.
"No Way - you will not make Europe home" started a campaign on social media to draw the attention of Europeans to illegal migration. The campaign also features an illustration depicting a boat full of migrants on stormy seas.
According to the photo shared on X, nearly 30 European countries have already joined the campaign, including Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Austria.

The campaign follows as a model the media campaign launched by the Australian government in 2014 with the same slogan. The goal of the Australian authorities was to deter illegal immigrants. “Don't waste your money - traffickers lie. The Australian Government has instructed the Australian Defense Force to turn the boats back where it is safe to do so," the Australian campaign's website said.
General Campbell, the country's border commander, said of the campaign at the time: "The message is simple, anyone who comes to Australia illegally by boat will never have a way to become an Australian citizen."
In practice, the boat of migrants who try to enter the country by sea vehicle is either escorted back to the port from which they came, or, more commonly, the migrants are transported to the migrant camps on the islands of Nauru and Manus in Papua New Guinea.
Of course, this was not the first surprising proposal to curb illegal migration. In 2018, for example, Matteo Salvini, the Italian interior minister at the time, proposed importing the "Pacific solution" to solve the migrant crisis.
The program would have followed the hardline migration policy established by Australia.
