The balance of power in the world has been disrupted, the world order is undergoing transformation, so now is the time for strategic connections.

Our cultural sovereignty cannot be a subject of debate - emphasized Miklós Szánthó, Director General of the Center for Fundamental Rights, at the Budapest conference on Monday, at which Hungarian and Italian conservative organizations signed a partnership agreement.

At the event called Europa Nostra, Italian-Hungarian think-tank Dialogue, according to the director general, the parties formed an alliance "to deepen their cooperation against the challenges posed by left-wing progress and the erosion of traditional values".

Miklós Szánthó stated that the balance of power in the world has been disrupted, the world order is undergoing transformation, therefore now is the time for strategic connections.

We must protect tomorrow today, he declared, adding that our cultural sovereignty is under comprehensive attack, because the left-liberal forces want to destroy Europe's Judeo-Christian roots in the name of the woke, and what's more, they are working on an organized population exchange.

Europe must be guided back to the path of common sense, because the Brussels and liberal elite would turn the European Union into a "federal, multicultural gateway", Miklós Szánthó pointed out.

He added: the left-liberal forces would shake our relationship with normality, but this is a civilizational impasse with which Italian and Hungarian right-wingers cannot identify.

According to the director general, only strong and sovereign member states can build a strong Europe, and the conclusion of cooperation on Monday also serves this purpose. "The time has come for the relevant organizations to change from intellectual think-tanks and brain trusts to proactive do-tanks based on common values, i.e. actively acting organizations".

The agreement was signed by Director General Miklós Szánthó on behalf of the Fundamental Rights Center, by Péter Törcsi, the chairman of the board of trustees on behalf of the Oeconomus Economic Research Foundation, by President Daniele Scalea on behalf of Centro Studi Machiavelli, and by President Francesco Giubilei on behalf of Nazione Futura.

"The signed declaration of intent emphasizes the rejection of transnational supranationalism and ominously advancing federal aspirations in the European Union, and instead sees the future of the continent in strengthening cooperation between sovereign states," reads the press release from the event.

The document emphasizes the basic values of God, homeland, family and freedom, with the conviction that rights and obligations originate from Creation.

At the panel discussion following the signing, parliament member Nacsa Lőrinc (KDNP), president of the Hungary-Italy friendship circle, emphasized that the Hungarian-Italian friendship rests on deep foundations and goes back to a long history. He added: this relationship can be even closer and more intense now that Italy also has a conservative government. We have common interests and values - pointed out the politician. He said: these common points include, for example, the protection of the sanctity of the family, the protection of life, the rejection of illegal migration, and the goal that Europe should be restored to the ground of normality.

Enikő Győri, a member of the European Parliament of Fidesz, said: the cooperation with the Italian center and right-wing parties is continuous and strong.

He called it important that right-wing, conservative forces "increase their visibility" in the months remaining until the European Parliament elections, and show people that they have clear ideas about the future of Europe.

In relation to the migration crisis, Enikő Győri emphasized that, according to Hungary's point of view, the problem should not be brought here, but help should be brought to the place where it is needed.

Simone Billi (Lega), a member of the Italian Parliament, called it important to change the current party ratio in the European Parliament. According to him, socialists politicize solely along ideological principles, instead of being guided by the interests of the people. Taking action against ideology-driven politicking is one of the most important tasks, he underlined.

Francesco Giubilei stated: Hungarian-Italian relations must be strengthened not only from an economic point of view, but also in the political, cultural and metapolitical fields.

Speaking about the migrant crisis, he emphasized that illegal immigrants coming from North Africa and the Balkan route must be stopped. The redistribution of migrants cannot be a solution for Europe, he stated.

He also touched on the fact that the Green Agreement in its current form is an ideologically based agreement, which should be replaced by "green conservatism".

Political expert Massimiliano Ferrari was of the opinion that Hungary should stay on the path it is on. According to him, the direction represented by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán should be followed by other nations as well. The Hungarian Prime Minister is "the lighthouse of the patriotic people of Europe," he said.
