According to the local Fidesz, even though the mayor was informed about the 23 times that diluted wastewater was being released into the Danube, the first person in Óbuda did not inform the population. All he managed to do was temporarily close the free beach citing the heavy rains, reports Metropol .
The portal noticed that A Fővárosi Csatornázási Művek made public that during the entire summer period - between June 1 and September 3 - a total of 23 times diluted sewage was released into the Danube on the Római bank. This is interesting because of the open beach on the Római coast, since the mayor of DK László Kiss, although he closed the beach, he kept the inflow of sewage from the bathers and athletes every time, which the water flow always carries towards the open beach.
Ádám Gyepes, the Fidesz representative of Óbuda, told the newspaper that all of this may go beyond the limits of political responsibility and may also raise the issue of the exhaustion of some criminal law facts.
He also noted that although he asked the mayor why he endangered the health of the people of Óbuda, he allegedly only threatened the media covering the silence of the case amid the hesitancy.
The Fidesz representative considers all this extremely distasteful because, while he knew what was being released into the river, he encouraged people on his social media site to take a dip in the Danube's water, instead of warning them of the possible dangers.
