Winning the Hungarikum title means a guarantee of quality, which is particularly important in the grain industry these days, as grain currently comes to our country from many places - Zoltán Lakatos, President and CEO of Hajdú Gabona Zrt., pointed out the importance of winning the Hungarikum title.

The flour from Hajdúság has a very good chance of getting the title of hungarikum, wrote the Hajdú-Bihar county news portal .

According to the president and CEO of Hajdú Gabona Zrt., the Hajdú-Bihar county in Hungary produced the most and best quality wheat this year. Zoltán Lakatos told the county portal that the Hajdúság flour produced by the company has a good chance of being awarded the Hungarian title.

This year, the national average was 5.6-5.7 tons of grain per hectare, of which only 30 percent was of good quality, the rest mostly fodder wheat. In Hajdú-Bihar, the average yield was 6.7-6.8 tons per hectare, and at least 60-70 percent of the harvested bread grain was of good quality.

This year, as usual, the farmers replenished the soil with nitrogen, and this, together with the favorable weather, resulted in an excellent harvest in the county.

In order for a product to be declared a Hungarian product, the product base must be created and it must go through a multi-step acceptance system.

After the municipal certification of the flour, the county treasury recommends the product to the national treasury for acceptance. Last December, Hajdú Gabona passed the competition of the National Valuation Committee, where they unanimously decided to recommend Hajdúság flour to the Hungarikum Committee for the title of Hungaricum.

The Hungarikum Committee discussed the matter and also decided by a majority vote to declare Hajdú Grain flour an outstanding national value. This year, the company applied for the Hungarian title.
