The Székely flag will continue to be used, the RMDSZ will protect the interests of the Hungarian people, the symbols of the community - declared Barna Tánczos, the senator of the RMDSZ, on Tuesday in response to the scandal-mongering senator Diana Sosoaca's outcry against the display of the Székely flag on Monday by the Romanian Parliament in his upper house.

"Every time our national and community symbols are attacked or the existence of Székelyföld is questioned, a part of the Hungarian community is attacked. When extremist organizations do this in the parliament, the goal is to create ethnic conflict, the intention is to discredit the Hungarian community," Barnát Tánczos was quoted as saying in a statement from the press office of the RMDSZ.

The Hargita county senator stated: the Hungarians' national emblems and community symbols are not the subject of debate: the constitutional right of the Hungarian community to express its identity and live it.

"We will continue to use the flag of Székelyföld, no matter who it bothers, because it is part of our identity. In the parliament and in all forums, we defend the interests of the Hungarian people and our symbols, even when extremist mood-mongers attack us with behavior unworthy of the Senate"

said Dancing Brown.

The announcement of the RMDSZ recalled that Diana Sosoaca, an independent senator who gained parliamentary representation with nationalist voices, was expelled from the Association for the Unification of Romanians (AUR), which was called extremist by other parties, and who regularly causes scandal in the parliament, displayed the Székely flag in a "hostile, aggressive and hysterical tone" on Monday. spoke out against. Reacting to this, RMDSZ Senator Tánczos Barna explained: this community will continue to display the Székely flag in accordance with the law. "Székelyland does not exist!" - Another political attack in the Romanian parliament

After the incident, Barna Tánczos drew attention to the fact that rules are needed in the Senate that promote democratic debate, not the public stigmatization of a community.

"There is no place for such hysteria in a democratic space, in a democratic institution. I sincerely believe in the importance of every democratic institution and every historical region. Therefore, we need to find a solution to eliminate such style of debates and situations once and for all from parliamentary work processes" -

the RMDSZ senator was quoted in the association's statement.
