Colonel György Makula, the communications manager of the National Penitentiary Command, said that as the next stage of the penitentiary organization's capacity expansion program, a high-security prison capable of accommodating 1,500 people is being built in Csenger, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county.

The Csenger penitentiary, located one kilometer from highway 49, can be built in the fall of 2024, on an area of ​​5 and a half hectares, designed with modern, durable and environmentally friendly architectural solutions. The inmates will also be provided with learning and employment opportunities in this prison:

With the investment, not only places, but also jobs will be created, since almost 700 employees will be needed to operate the newly built prison.
