"Feel the Arab taste" - this is the slogan used by a pro-Hamas coffee chain in Jordan to advertise its latest specialty called "Holo-Gosta". The ad caused great indignation on social media, reports the Tett és Védelem Alapítvány.
The Jordanian Gosta Coffee (not to be confused with the American Costa Coffee) has added an unusual specialty to its range: the product called "Holo-Gosta" is a cup of coffee decorated with marshmallows decorated with a Star of David, and the sugar is a a barista wearing Palestinian flag gloves burns it with a welding gun.
The pictures published on Instagram confirm that it is a real product, which is offered in the store exactly as advertised, reports the Berliner Zeitung. Gosta followers on Instagram largely approve of the new product, many of them reacting with smiley emojis. "Creativity in marketing," comments one of them, "Hitler is the barista," writes another.
However, many people, especially outside of Jordan, were outraged by the post, many of whom did not understand how Instagram and Facebook could allow it to remain up.
"Shocking and disgusting: Gosta Coffee, a Jordanian coffee chain, is launching a new drink called 'Holo-Gosta' with the tagline 'Feel the Arabic taste.' The image leaves no room for interpretation!”
- writes, for example, Ahmad Mansour, the well-known pro-Israel Palestinian-German author on X (former Twitter).
Another user tags Ranija, the Palestinian-born Queen of Jordan, and asks her:
"How about a cup of 'Holocaust coffee' or a 'Nakba coffee'?" Which one tastes better? This is how low your people can sink."
(In an interview with CNN the other day, Queen Rania accused the West of using "double standards" because she did not condemn the killing of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.)
In a separate post, the coffee chain expressed outrage at the protests, saying its Instagram page had been blocked for several hours following an "offensive campaign" launched by "Zionists against the new drink".
According to them, this is also related to the fact that their rating on Google Maps fell below two stars.
"Despite all these threats, we continue to support the Palestinian cause," the company states.
Of the hundreds of civilians massacred by Hamas on October 7, many were burned alive or after their death. Women and children were tied up and burned, and the bodies of babies burned by Hamas terrorists were also found - The Jerusalem Post reminds us why the advertisement is outrageous and tasteless.
After the massacre on October 7, this was not the first time that a restaurant had broadcast an anti-Semitic message. Shortly after the attack, a pizzeria in the West Bank's Huvara posted an online ad depicting an elderly Israeli woman kidnapped by terrorists in Gaza. The pizzeria was then closed by the IDF.
