American representatives, actors, and public figures started a hunger strike in protest against the policy of the Biden administration in the Israel-Hamas conflict. According to them, the United States is one of the actors in the genocide.
Six of the participants decided not to eat for five days, while the others fasted for less than five days, according to TIME , Magyar Nemzet reports.
Madinah Wilson-Anton, a Democrat from Delaware, said the hunger strike "calls attention to the fact that the United States government, our president and our congressional leaders are funding the policy of starvation," referring to civilians in Gaza.
We're sending American taxpayers' money to bomb communities in Gaza, and I don't think our president is using his influence enough to get a lasting ceasefire
he said. "We're seeing the impact of that, there's no food or water there."
