Measures were taken against 7,000 migrants, 31 automatic rifles, 12 pistols and more than 3,200 rounds of ammunition were seized by the Serbian police.
The migration situation at the southern border of Hungary remains serious. The Serbian authorities have still not been able to end their weeks-long operation in the area of the fence, and they are preparing for the same in the southern part of the country.
Cars are constantly checked by the Serbian police in and around Subotica. They are looking for people smugglers and migrants. Their action has been going on for weeks, border violators are taken to internment camps, and criminals are taken into custody.
One of the main bases of the special police forces is next to Lake Tőzeg in the Subotica area, where armored vehicles are also stationed.
The dilapidated houses in the area used to be full of migrants, but now they are empty.
However, the locals are worried, they fear that this will only remain so as long as the commandos are there.
"Migrants were also hiding in weekend houses around Lake Tőzeg before the police operation. After the police action, their owners walled up the windows with bricks so that the migrants could not return to these buildings," said the Vojvodina correspondent of the public media.
The settlements of Kispiac and Kishomok are approximately 15 kilometers from the Hungarian border.
Since this area is not covered by the action of the Serbian authorities, migrants have recently tried to approach the Hungarian border here.
"Really, recently, migrants have been getting in in small groups of two or three. But until then, there is still this supervision, and on such a wide scale, I think that this is still a tolerable state," said Róbert Lackó, the president of the Magyarkanizsa village representative body.
Not much further away, in Királyhaloma, the authorities also have a problem, here the locals called the police because of a human smuggler.
"A people smuggler was allegedly hiding in the barracks of the old border guard, the police arrived immediately after a report from the public, as we know, they no longer found the person in this building. But based on the clues, it seems that he really hid in that building for days," - Róbert Katona, Council President of the Local Community of Királyhalom.
Serbian police have taken action against almost 7,000 migrants since the end of October, seizing 31 automatic rifles, 12 pistols and more than 3,200 rounds of ammunition.
During the inspection of the cars, more than 200 people were detained for crimes related to migration.
The Serbian Minister of the Interior visited Palics on Tuesday evening, where he again promised that the raid will continue until all human trafficking networks in the area are eradicated.
Bratislav Gasic announced that a base will soon be established in the southern part of the country: near Presevo.
On Tuesday in Geneva, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó drew attention to the danger of the situation. As he put it: the fact that some migrants and human traffickers armed themselves and shot at the border guards and the police with sharp, automatic weapons on several occasions is a serious step forward.
We say no to migration - that's what it says in the video posted on the Hungarian government's social media page.
The post once again drew attention to the fact that the issue of migration is included in the national consultation.
The letters say: In Brussels, they want to decide for us who we should live with, who we should let into our country.
The government is therefore asking the Hungarian people to make it clear whether they reject the creation of migrant ghettos or whether they accept Brussels' migration plans.
