The central part of the dormitory of Tamási Áron High School in Székelyudvarhely collapsed in the early afternoon. The accident happened when the students had already returned from school to their accommodation. Several people were able to run out, but some were sleeping at the time of the accident. It is understood that four children were trapped under the rubble. All of them have now been found, but the life of one young person could not be saved, and another is in a coma. The old building collapsed after earthworks were carried out in the college yard.

"Székelyudvarhely is mourning and the surrounding settlements are mourning, especially the community of Farkaslaka. Unfortunately, the authorities have confirmed the news of the tragedy, a 12th-grade boy from Farkaslak lost his life in the building collapse," Krisztina Geréb, the Székelyudvarhely correspondent of the public media, told M1 Hírado.

Four young people between the ages of 15 and 17 were trapped under the rubble, and the firefighters managed to get them out. It is known that a girl was revived by paramedics shortly after being pulled out, but her condition is still critical. The fourth student was found in such a condition that even after prolonged resuscitation, his life could not be saved.

The correspondent said that, according to his information, several institutions have offered students to use the dormitories of other denominations.

The tragedy happened on Monday afternoon. The roof and walls of the dormitory of the Tamási Áron High School in Székelyudvarhely collapsed completely. The collapse affected the central part of the building. According to the Hargita County Fire Department, a 200 square meter wall collapsed.

Several people were injured in the building collapse. According to current information, four children were buried under the ruins.

Using special tools, the professionals carefully moved through the ruins and successfully brought out a student, who was immediately taken to the ambulance. The search continued, not long after another child was found from under the ruins. Three girls were rescued by late afternoon. They all suffered serious injuries. One of them was successfully revived on the spot, but according to our information, he is currently in a coma.

In addition to firefighters, special units, including mountain rescuers, also took part in the rescue. The rescue was carried out under the constant threat of collapse, and the firefighters had to flee due to the falling rubble. The high school students were also present near the tragedy. They say it is incomprehensible what happened to their companions.

"We heard from one of our classmates that he was just using the toilet and saw the wall crack, but luckily he was able to run out," said one student.

The central part of the dormitory collapsed unexpectedly, from one moment to the next, when many students were in the building.

"It is probably related to the works taking place in the yard, unfortunately the incident happened when the classes were just over and the children were entering their rooms, some of them were sleeping when it happened," said Noémi Zörgő, spokesperson for the mayor's office in Székelyudvarhely.

By early evening, the fourth victim was also rescued from the ruins, whose resuscitation was immediately started, but he could no longer be saved.
