A politician and a musician - what do they have in common? The fact that both have done a lot for Hungarians at home and beyond the border.

Knowing the above, it didn't surprise anyone that the two of them recently received the Vasvári award, founded in 2014 by the Vasvári Pál Civic Association. Since 2014, this recognition has been awarded to those who have done a lot to achieve the goals of the Association, to make the life of Pál Vasvári known, for the nation, and for nurturing relations with Hungarians beyond the border.
The Vasvári awards were presented this year at the Hungarian National Museum. According to the laudation, Péter Szijjártó received this recognition for his tireless work for Hungarians here and beyond the border, for his outstanding performance, for representing Hungary's interests and for strengthening national self-awareness; Levente Szörényi for his tireless work for Hungarians here and beyond the border, for his artistic activity and for nurturing the national ideal.
The Vasvári awards were presented by Ferenc Bauer and Kálmán Tóth, co-presidents of the Vasvári Pál Civic Association. Judit Hammerstein, Acting Director General of the Hungarian National Museum, also spoke at the ceremony.
