Islam is an extremely pragmatic religion. It is logically the ideology created by a trader.
Száleh, Liverpool's Egyptian footballer, wished a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it.
His post received an astonishing amount of comments from Muslims expressing their disagreement in assorted ways. Islam recognizes Jesus as a prophet, but not as the son of God.
About 10-15 years ago, Zsolt Rostványi wrote an excellent book The Islamic World and the West . I recommend everyone to read it.
From the book and my experiences, I came to the following conclusion. It's true that I've said this several times, but maybe not enough. The current understanding of Islam is like our own inverse. Our own opposite.
We, the West, are now weak. We look weak. Therefore, the majority of Muslims see this as the will of Allah. And you feel strong.
When the British redcoats gunned down the Mahdi's armies in Sudan, or the French Foreign Legion suppressed uprisings one after the other in North Africa, these questions did not arise. But this was not a question in subjugation Hungary either. In the subject areas, e.g. the situation was different in the Balkans.
Islam is an extremely pragmatic religion. It is logically the ideology created by a trader. But the problem is not with the Muslims.
WITH US WESTERN.
And until we pull ourselves together, until we shake our heads, every Christmas market will be under threat.
