Another EU fund of almost HUF 300 billion arrived in Hungary on Thursday, Finance Minister Mihály Varga announced on his social media page on Thursday.
Hungary's amended recovery plan was accepted by the EU finance ministers on December 8, thus the obstacle to the disbursement of funds due to our country was removed. 779.5 million euros, i.e. nearly HUF 300 billion, were transferred to Hungary from RePowerEU resources on Thursday.
Regional Development Minister Tibor Navracsics also said on his social media page: the payments have started, finally the first part of the EU funds rightfully due to our country is here. He added:
At the beginning of January, the payments of the operational programs will also start, of which the first significant amount, 445 million euros, will arrive shortly.
