The Association for the Roman Coast called on the mayor of Budapest and the mayor of Óbuda in an open letter.

They wrote that

immediately start cleaning and disinfecting public areas, playgrounds and benches from Danube mud on the largely flooded Római-bank, the Kossuth Lajos holiday promenade and the side streets where the Danube has broken through. The mayor endangers the health of many thousands of people visiting here with his inaction!

The statement of the association for the Római Partért continued as follows: there is a serious risk of infection for residents and visitors; this is confirmed by the sludge samples taken on public lands in 2010 and 2013.

The association calls on the local government to immediately stop the operation of the buffets and catering establishments operating without sewerage on the Danube bed, until they have adequate sewerage, and the contents of their digesters are washed away by the Danube, which seriously endangers the health of the local population and visitors. "We protect our environment from harmful effects!" they wrote.

They asked the mayor and the deputy mayor responsible for city operations to do their jobs for which they get paid, to serve and protect the people of Budapest from the dangers lurking in them, instead of taking smiling pictures.
