This year, the Apáczai Scholarship program, which supports disadvantaged and talented students, will continue, which supports disadvantaged students with good academic results for 7-19 months with up to HUF 34,000 per month, announced the Ministry of Culture and Innovation (KIM).

They wrote that

the program with a budget of HUF 6.2 billion provides, in addition to financial incentives, talent support for young people with the involvement of mentors.

They reminded: in 2020, with the renewal of vocational training, the scholarship system was also transformed. During the basic sector education, all students receive a general monthly stipend. Students in full-time training who do not have a vocational training employment contract can receive up to HUF 59,000 per month based on their academic results after the basic education in the sector, which can be replaced by a wage by joining the dual training as their studies progress.

According to the announcement, students participating in dual training can count on 43-72 percent of the minimum wage, so their wages can reach HUF 168,000 per month. The career start allowance is also an achievement of the renewed vocational training system. Depending on the exam results, students receive between HUF 150,000 and HUF 300,000 at the same time after a successful professional exam, which they can use to start their professional career or even purchase equipment.

According to the ministry, the Apáczai Scholarship Program

since its inception, it has supported 6,260 disadvantaged students with good academic results with HUF 16,000 and HUF 34,000 per month for 7-19 months.

Students eligible for the relaunched Apácz Scholarship Program based on need and good academic results can submit their applications from January 11, 2024 on the electronic application interface of the KRÉTA system. "Students of the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades of vocational schools and technical schools with student status in full-time professional education are eligible to submit the application. In addition to financial incentives of HUF 16, 25 or 34,000 per month depending on academic results, the program also provides talent support throughout its duration, with the involvement of mentors," the ministry announced.

In the announcement, Gáborné Pölöskei, Deputy State Secretary responsible for vocational training, was quoted as saying:

"the goal of the Apácz Scholarship Program is to help those starting from a more difficult life situation and with more modest financial means to obtain a degree that provides a secure livelihood". The program can even accompany outstanding talents to university with their embrace and increased support, encouraging them to obtain a diploma

he added.
