Condé Nast Traveler, one of the leading international travel media, ranked the Hungarian capital among the best travel destinations in the world in its year-end recommendation.
The prestigious recognition is also important because, in this way, the Hungarian capital can gain even more popularity among foreigners, the Hungarian Tourist Agency announced.
They pointed out that this year the capital of Hungary was also included in the Condé Nast Traveler list of the world's 24 most outstanding attractions published at the end of the year, which is prepared with the help of journalists living in different parts of the world.
Budapest is listed alongside destinations such as French Polynesia, Mauritius or the Kimberley region in Australia. Furthermore, in the frame of 24, apart from Budapest, there are only 3 other European destinations: the Cyclades in Greece, Kosovo and the Yorkshire region of the United Kingdom.
In the recommendation, the unique architectural styles and thermal baths characteristic of the Hungarian capital are highlighted, and tourist attractions such as
the Chain Bridge, the House of Hungarian Music and the National Athletic Center.
It is not the first time that the world press pays attention to Hungary. Last year, Budapest featured prominently on Time magazine's list of recommended destinations. In the columns of the British Mirror magazine, the Széchenyi Spa and Swimming Pool, as well as Lake Hévíz, were among the best spas in Europe. And Tokaj was chosen by the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) as one of the best priority settlements in the world.
These recognitions and recommendations can contribute to more tourists visiting the Hungarian capital than before.
