The star was wounded while fighting as an IDF reservist in the central Gaza Strip.

Idan Amedi, the actor and singer who was wounded in the fighting in Gaza and joined the Israeli army as a reserve after the war started by the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, says in a message from the hospital that he will be fine, the Times of Israel reported.

National Unity Party representative Chili Tropper said he visited Amed and received two messages to share with the public:

The first, Trooper says, is "thanks to everyone who was concerned and sent love."

The second, writes Tropper on social media, “In the words of Amedi: 'Forget it, I'll be fine. The important thing is that we stay strong together.''

Amedi, who became known for playing a soldier in an elite unit of the IDF in the hit TV series Fauda, actually served as an IDF reservist in a combat technical unit.

He was taken to the Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan at around 4pm on Monday, where he underwent urgent and lengthy surgery.

Shortly before he was wounded, Amedi gave an interview to an Israeli TV station in Gaza, where he said he was "a little tired, but he's fine."

"We work hard to keep everyone safe. We really love you," said Amedi, who was also asked about the tunnels his unit was working on excavating.

"It's crazy what they built here," he said. “The operation here is on a large central [Hamas tunnel] route. We found several kilometers of tunnels here, weapons, even special weapons. We've been busy trying to destroy this for the last two days."

In a recent video recorded from Gaza, Amedi urged the internal reconciliation of Israelis.

"Together with my conservative brothers, I call on the politicians, all the media and everyone: If you don't have something good to say, just keep your mouth shut. The people of Israel are alive," the actor said in his message.

After Amedi's injury, Lior Raz, one of the creators and actors of Fauda, sent a message to his colleague on Instagram, saying that he and the entire crew of the series are praying for Amedi's full recovery.
