András Szigeti received the Golden Rosary Award of St. Margaret's Parish in Kaposvár. András has regularly ministered and read aloud at Mass since he was in kindergarten. This also shows: working for God's kingdom is not age-dependent.
The rosary ring hanging on a gold chain was presented to the awardee by county bishop László Varga on Sunday evening, during the opening of the ecumenical week of prayer. The vicar's eulogy revealed: "András has regularly ministered and read at Mass since he was in kindergarten.
Because he is interested in the Bible, he finished the Old Testament last October.
During the most recent nocturnal liturgy - held from the evening of the first Friday of every month until 7 a.m. on Saturday morning - he and his mother appeared at the church door at 1 a.m. His passionate service is also an example: working for God's kingdom is not age-dependent; although many persons who could do it, and it would not be burdensome to them, do not make this sacrifice out of love for Jesus.
Because of the authentic living of his faith, Andris became the role model of the parish, whose name was also written on a marble tablet. Next to the names of people who, by thought, word and deed, have made a significant contribution to the building of God's kingdom and the local community.
