The mayor distributes false renderings of the investment planned for the Cancer director, and then, horrified by his own fraud, creates panic.

The Secretary of State for Architecture asks Karácsony to at least "in the remaining months of his mayoral term, try to lead the city with the seriousness that befits our beautiful city and stop terrorizing the people."

"Stop terrorizing people Gergely Karácsony! The mayor shares rather low-quality, fake visual plans sketched by them in the press, and then he is spectacularly frightened by this and thus scolds people," wrote Regő Lánszki, the state secretary for architecture of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation, on his Facebook page.

According to the politician, the mayor is doing all of this in such a way that there is currently no concrete plan in relation to Director Rákosrendező, so these drawings are without any basis.

In his post, the Secretary of State referred to the blueprints that the Metropolitan Municipality recently made public, in which they wanted to show how Hősök tere would look if tall buildings were built on the site of the Rákosrendező railway station.

"We have already seen these horror stories in relation to Városliget, where the same atmosphere was created by the Karácsonys. And the result speaks for itself. We have an orderly, large green surface, popular park with iconic buildings recognized with international awards (House of Hungarian Music, Museum of Ethnography), where people like to go," said Regő Lánszki.

The state secretary emphasized that Rákosrendező "has been unused and neglected for 34 years".

He added that the government wants to eliminate this "lockdown", since cancer is located on Budapest's most important axis and its lack of care requires a solution in itself.

"Our goal is to create a new, historically significant city center, where, in addition to mixed-use buildings, a large-scale park will be created", which will also accommodate community programs, thus "creating a connection and connecting the city, while also promising special architectural solutions".

The politician said that he would ask Gergely Karácsony to at least try to lead the city with the seriousness that befits our beautiful city in the remaining months of his term as mayor and to stop terrorizing the people.

The Rákosdirénzé area was originally a freight station, which is now only partially used by MÁV. It is an area of 1.3 million square meters, or 130 hectares, in the heart of Budapest, in the XIII. and the XIV. on the border of the district.

It is now largely used as an illegal waste dump, and because of this, not only the area but also the soil is polluted.

Earlier, Minister of Construction and Transport János Lázár announced that the state would spend HUF 380-400 billion to develop the transport infrastructure here, i.e. railway, road, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. 20 billion forints are allocated for the treatment of area pollution alone. According to the plan, the private investor must invest at least five billion euros in addition to the state's one billion euros. This translates to about HUF 2,000 billion.

In other words, the cost of the entire development will definitely reach the HUF 2,500 billion level, but János Lázár also hinted that the cost could be up to EUR 10 billion, around HUF 4,000 billion.
