Marcel Ciolacu claims that the ethnicities living in Romania are actually all Romanians.
"People, Transylvania is a Romanian land, we are part of the European Union, Hungary is also part of the European Union. Both Romania and Hungary are members of NATO and have signed agreements for eternity"
- declared Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu at the meeting of the Szatmár county organization of the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
According to the leader of the socdems traditionally strong in Regát (Moldova and Havasalföld), the public discourse about Transylvania should be normalized, reports Új Magyar Szó following Agerpres.
In the spirit of this, Ciolacu, who comes from Bodzavásár (Buzau county, Havasalföld), stated: let's finally forget the stupidity that Transylvania is not Romanian land.
"Actually, we are all Romanians of different ethnicities: Romanians, Hungarians, Ukrainians, Germans, who live together in Romania. I think this is a blessing and not a reason to argue, to find things that separate us"
- said Ciolacu, adding that in the 2024 election year certain political forces will try to divide the communities in the hope of few votes.
Romanians, Hungarians, Ukrainians and Germans also know that these are provocations. God created us not to tear apart, but to build together - said the politician, who said: "after a two-month campaign" people in mixed marriages should forget that they live together and have children together.
Perhaps this speech also serves the undisclosed purpose of the socialists acquiring the city of Szatmár, which is currently led by the Hungarian mayor.
