Anne Vanhoestenberghe, a professor at King's College in London, told the BBC Details of the intervention breakthrough were published in the journal Nature last May.
By placing electronic implants in the brain or spine, the goal is to wirelessly transmit thoughts to the legs and feet. With this, many neurological or neuromedical diseases could be treated.
