In the eastern part of the country, you can count on more and more tractors and power machines on the roads, as many farmers are heading to the border for the farmers' demonstration that started at eleven o'clock - drew attention to the Association of Hungarian Farmers' Associations and Farmers' Associations, which was reported by Világgazdaság Meanwhile, protesting Polish farmers blocked all Polish-Ukrainian border crossings.

In the meantime Szon wrote that the farmers had already set off for Záhony by car and agricultural machinery at dawn, escorted by the police. The police and civil guard will assist with parking on site.

On Friday, farmers are protesting at the Záhony border against the decision of the European Commission, the essence of which is to allow duty-free import of Ukrainian crops for another year.

The Association of Hungarian Farmers' Unions and Farmers' Cooperatives, which organized the demonstration, previously stated that they are standing by their European counterparts because they consider the Brussels decisions unacceptable.

Hungarian farmers are in a better position, because the Hungarian government provides them with the conditions for which producers in Western countries have been protesting in the streets for weeks, even without demonstrations.

These are the following important points:

  • the refund of the diesel excise tax has been and will continue to be guaranteed,
  • the tax system for family farms and primary producers is also unique in Europe,
  • the Hungarian government banned the possibility of levying land tax,
  • our country was the first to go against the decision of the European Commission and closed its borders to Ukrainian agricultural imports.

Hungarian farmers stand by the Hungarian government, which also protects their interests against Brussels.

Protesting Polish farmers blocked all Polish-Ukrainian border crossings

Polish farmers protesting against the European Union's Green Agreement and the European import of Ukrainian products have again blocked Polish-Ukrainian border crossings and are slowing down traffic on public roads in Poland on Friday.

The main element of the protest is the border blockade, and the slowing down of road traffic in Poland has a "supportive" nature. The protesters do not allow any trucks or cars to cross the border, except for humanitarian and military aid shipments.

The blockade may continue until March 10, but it will last at least until the European Commission (EC) and the Polish government "develop appropriate mechanisms"

- said Tomasz Obszanski, president of the agricultural department of the Solidarity trade union (NSSZ RI).

According to reports, Friday's traffic slowdown will affect around 300 points on main roads, including a section of the east-west A2 highway in central Poland's Masovian Voivodeship. Starting Friday morning, farmers are protesting in several big cities, including in front of the headquarters of the voivodship offices in Gdansk, Wroclaw, Rzeszów and Poznan.

According to the NSSZ RI's statement announcing the current action last week

the reason for the national protest is "the passivity of the Polish governing forces" and the government's announcements that "they will respect the decisions of the European Commission on the import of agricultural products and foodstuffs from Ukraine".
