Our common cause is the Animal Protection Foundation at the Thália Színház, a program called Artists for Animal Protection.
During the attitude-shaping performances, before the children's and youth productions, an artist in the company of his four-legged pet draws attention to the importance of animal protection and responsible animal husbandry using the methods of experiential pedagogy.
On Saturday, the public Gregor Bernadette and his two dogs before the puppet show called Boribon Holiday. The actor, a member of the foundation's board of trustees, talked to the children about responsible animal husbandry in the presence of the two dogs in the theater's studio.
Szilvia Vetter, chairman of the foundation's board of trustees, told MTI:
the first and so far the only animal protection foundation created by the state is constantly looking for ways to reach new social groups, including the culture-consuming, theater-loving audience, with the ideas of responsible animal husbandry. Especially children, whose love of animals was given from birth
he highlighted.
He said: in the framework of a joint model project with the theater
ten times, the actors give a short animal protection presentation at the beginning of the children's performances, and in the future, additional theaters are also planned to join.
He emphasized that the fact that children meet animals not only has advantages from the point of view of animal protection, but can also have many positive effects on children's development, the experience helps to form bonds and empathy.
The participating artists can start from the professional content defined in the performances, but tailored to their own individuality, so no two sessions will be the same, said Szilvia Vetter.
Viktor Nagy, the theater's artistic director, told MTI:
the theater can be a direct field for education. Therefore, this season they are also preparing children's performances, and with the foundation they created the program in which their actors present their favorites and talk about animal protection.
In the next period, they will hold sensitization sessions two or three times a month in addition to the Boribon vacation before the children's play János the Brave and the Csukás Tale - Süsü and his Friends, he said.
He added: next season, the repertoire of children's performances will be expanded with three more performances.
He said: After Gregor Bernadett, other artists, including András Mózes, Győző Szabó, and himself come to the theater with his dog.
Gregor Bernadett told MTI after the performance: he felt that the children were receptive to the animal theme, that they had an inherent passion for animals. This must be grasped to preserve the love for animals and nature, he said.
