Bertalan Havasi, the prime minister's press chief, called "the rumors published in the left-wing press about Viktor Orbán and Zoltán Balog" nonsense and a newspaper duck in his statement.
Several news portals reported on Monday that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán "also considers Zoltán Balog responsible in the pardon case", whose "bishopric may also be in danger".
The government and the prime minister do not interfere in the affairs of the churches, they respect their autonomy, stated the press chief.
