All I can do for Katalin Novák is to thank her for her work on behalf of many.
It was exactly five years ago that I wrote about family for the first time in my life. Although I myself grew up in a family, this topic eluded me for a long time.
However, it was around that time, i.e. in 2019, that a war against families broke out in the world press - quite perceptibly. Today, I don't need to say that the war broke out in the civilized West, and by now it has already "ripened" in many parts of the world. At that time, the liberal (I never forget to add, semi-liberal) forces in Europe were already openly opposing the family as an institution, as a form of existence. The conference that took place in Verona, Italy, in March 2019, if I remember correctly, provided a splendid proof of this and, at the time, shocked many.
Katalin Novák, former State Secretary for Family Affairs, also gave a presentation at the event, which was organized under the name of the World Congress of Families.
Perhaps many of you will remember, it is no coincidence that I mention him in this article. They're right, it's not a coincidence. We are talking about a normal-thinking person, liked by everyone, kind, smart, who can speak preparedly about Hungary's views - also on the topic of the family - and who also won the sympathy of hundreds of thousands as state secretary. Also at the said conference. Nowadays, however, he did not have the right to be wrong, so he is no longer the president of our republic, he resigned. We are all sorry. All I can do is thank you on behalf of many. And let's go back to the mentioned conference, the one in Verona, the purpose of which was to strengthen the protection of family and life. Of course, it was already strange for us Hungarians that the family, as a nation-shaping force, needs protection.
But soon we got to know the facts, for example, that at that time a law was passed in the state of New York that abortion could be performed even in the ninth month of pregnancy. Thus, the efforts of those who stand for the protection of life have become more understandable.
Living in a family is a matter of decision. Just like choosing to be alone is a private matter. But I never dreamed that someone who believes in the loving relationship of father, mother, children, grandparents and other relatives could be the object of ridicule and contempt. I first received the news that at the Congress in Verona, counter-protesters were waiting for the conference participants, who were protected by police cordons. This is also absurd, since they did not hold a conference about turning the world upside down, multi-billionaires did not gather to decide the fate of the world behind our backs (see, for example, the Bilderberg group), but people who believe in marriage, even if it does not always work out, who they want to raise their children in such a way that they learn the role of mother and father in the family, and who - no matter how difficult their fate - also believe that family happiness is a very good thing.
I did not find out what the counter-protesters believed in. It's probably mostly in the then (I'm writing it again, only five years ago) "Realize yourself" slogan, which was already so fashionable, which is also good for a joke, because who the hell would I realize in my life, if not myself?
But they are also the ones who proudly preach about accepting the other person. Well, about accepting otherness! There is also a problem with this, because if they talk about accepting the other, then it would be time to realize themselves in such a way that, for example, they respect the will of people who want to start a family and raise children in it. Anyway, for my part, I respect the person in everyone, but no one should try to make me "respect" the robber murderer, the knifeman, the perverted criminal who rapes women and children as a decent person.
Well, back to the Verona conference!
According to news reports, the protestors targeted the hotels providing accommodation and asked them not to accommodate the guests of the conference. Do you understand?
In one of the infinitely free countries of capitalism, Italy. In the city of Romeo and Juliet! What have you become, Italy? The country where people always put family first, where world-famous directors made countless films about families! But the protesters were not satisfied with that. The organizers were called neo-fascist hate mongers and fundamentalist Catholics. I don't know what's wrong with someone believing that marriage is a union between a man and a woman. I don't even understand what makes someone who values family so hateful. I don't understand, because there is never any justification, only hatred.
I have already written in our paper about the so-called women's papers, the majority of which are owned by foreigners, and the content published in the mother country is taken over by foreign mutations, including those in Hungary. Respect for otherness is on the side of these papers, hardly a month goes by that they don't deal with lesbians, homosexuals and other people struggling with deviance, even in a large volume, presenting them almost as heroes.
Well, the women's magazine Elle immediately protested against the World Congress of Families at the time, labeling the meeting as extremist. They understand, right? The extremist who supports large families is the one who agrees that a mother and a father, i.e. a woman and a man, should raise children.
Who - oh, what a horror - also come from them. By the way, the magazine sells itself with the adjective "stylish, witty, sexy".
I am no longer surprised by the opinion of the all-liberal, skewed women's magazines. What caused the state to fall, well, is the following. I quote the report on the conference, from which it was also revealed that IKEA also took a stand against the gathering: "We don't need a congress to know what a family is." I humbly note that the conference was not about what the family is, but why it should be protected. The report also mentions that the furniture company also joined last year's Budapest Pride parade. I don't know what the boots are doing on the table. But their soul is on it! We were able to think, where is the limit of idiocy? And in order to leave some good news at the end, we were pleased to learn that State Secretary Katalin Novák, who gave a lecture on Hungarian family policy measures, was a great success among the participants of the conference.
Five years ago, everything I mentioned above happened. Since then, a lot of water has flowed down the Danube and the Pó river. Only one thing hasn't changed. We are still baffled by what is happening in Europe and the whole maddened world. Unfortunately, also in Hungary. And you don't even have to live in a family.
