It landed in its nest in Akaszt, Bács-Kiskun county.
In recent years, Suri, the stork from Vassurány, was typically the first to return home from winter in the first half of February. The bird became so popular that a Facebook page was created for it.
It seems that the streak was interrupted this year, because on February 20, the first spotted white stork was photographed in Akasztó, Bács-Kiskun county.
Akásztó is also known for its storks, as there are nearly thirty stork nests in the inner area of the settlement, Baon . The fish ponds, wetlands and canals around Ákasztó all provide a paradise for raising chicks.
Although not all storks nest in Akastó's nests, there was, for example, a bird from Germany that has nested in the settlement every year since 2014, the fourth year in the same nest.
The Akaszto stork boxes are ringed every year. In previous years, storks born in Akasto have been spotted in Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Transylvania, and Serbia, and the furthest detour was in South Africa.
