We can and will win the European Parliament elections, stated the Prime Minister.
The Fidesz-KDNP faction started its season-opening outdoor faction meeting in Balatonalmádi, where the prime minister spoke mainly about the upcoming elections at an event prior to the spring session of the parliament.
The Prime Minister, as he has done before, emphasized the need for change in Brussels.
"The migration pact has entered into force in Europe, and Hungary will be punished because we do not accept migrants. The war will not end, Europe is becoming increasingly burdened because financial support for Ukraine will decrease due to the disputes surrounding the presidential election in America. Supporting the Ukrainians has a huge political price. The farmers are revolting all over Europe, and slowly no one believes in the victory of the Ukrainians," the prime minister analyzed the events.
Viktor Orbán emphasized that the domestic left is not doing what it should, it is not representing Hungary in Brussels, but Brussels in Hungary. The left is in trouble - he summed up the situation.
In front of the faction, of course, he also spoke about the pardon case, which involved the departure of two people important to the conservative political community. He also thanked Judit Varga and Katalin Novák for their work in front of the representatives. Their resignation was correct and it strengthens us - said Viktor Orbán even now.
It became clear to everyone that there is no mercy on the national side when it comes to child protection issues.
According to him, this decision was not forced by some problem, but simply a mistake. "I already explained why this error occurred at the annual evaluation: even at the highest positions, it is true that no one can be smart enough on their own," the Prime Minister said again.
Viktor Orbán concluded his speech with an assessment of the upcoming elections and the tasks ahead of them.
He summarized that the government has already agreed on EU funds, the salaries of teachers and kindergarten teachers have been raised, wage agreements have been concluded, the increased 13th monthly pension has been paid, family allowances have been increased, and inflation has been suppressed. The utility reduction and interest rate freeze are in effect for families and small businesses.
He concluded his speech by saying that they can and will win the European Parliament elections.
According to his assessment, the international environment may change a lot this year, but they will be sailing against a headwind until June, but according to experienced sailors, this is not a bad thing, but a good thing, because they can catch the international headwind in their sails.
He spoke optimistically about the possibility of change not only in Brussels, but also in Washington this year. The European Parliament and American presidential elections can finally bring peace to Europe.
"In nine months we will be stronger than now. So it's worth working, because every European Parliament mandate you gain adds to the common strength that will help us in the parliamentary elections in 2026," concluded the prime minister's speech.
