Fidesz takes the initiative to ensure that sexual crimes against minors never become statute-barred.
The leader of the Fidesz faction expressed the need for a new child protection system in Kossuth radio's Sunday newspaper program, where he said: clear, clear rules and supervision are needed.
In the interview, Máté Kocsis called the resignation of Head of State Katalin Novák and former Minister of Justice Judit Varga a sensitive and painful loss, but both of them made a consistent decision that he believes is exemplary.
There is no appeal in such a case, you cannot make such a mistake, regardless of what was behind the decision
he said about the pardon case.
He pointed out: on the right, if there is a mistake, it has a consequence, and on the left, neither do sins. László Varju is a "convicted criminal" who is still clinging to his chair, perhaps more and more hopelessly, but this would be the moment when the left could show that, together with András Fekete-Győr, they are also capable of accepting the consequences of their actions, emphasized Máté Kocsis.
Speaking about the state of child protection, he confirmed that the government had ordered investigations, and a "snapshot" of the current state of child protection should be taken.
There are many of us in the country who suspect that all is not well
he said.
Máté Kocsis also spoke about the proposal to amend approximately twenty laws in the package of child protection laws. Among them, he highlighted that the punishments for pedophile crimes are getting stricter and that the possibilities of aggravating the punishment of those who help in the cover-up are being reviewed.
In addition, they are taking the initiative to ensure that sexual crimes against minors never become statute-barred.
- because the pedophile criminals themselves caused a lifelong wound with their actions - and also that pedophile criminals can never receive a moral certificate.
The leader of the Fidesz faction emphasized: they want to create a new child protection system,
with clean, clear rules and supervision. The state needs to see better who runs these institutions, what kind of lifestyle these people lead, what rules they don't follow, what kind of psychological state they are in, and they should be subjected to an investigation covering every single part of their lives, he explained.
