If they ask me how I am, I say thank you, fine. That's the simple and short answer, because I really don't know how I'm doing in the fight against the disease
told the paper , then explained:
"When I got the serious, terrifying diagnosis, I was scared, then the treatments came, I listened, I listened to the doctors, and lo and behold, I'm still alive. Maybe it's just that my strength has run out. I should move a lot more. I live in a beautiful house with a garden, and for now I am content with walking from one end of our plot to the other while listening to the birds chirping and breathing in the fresh air. Life has taught me to fight. And as Philip Roth said: old age is a battle.”
The Kossuth award-winning actor also added about this battle:
My next appointment is in a few days when I will have cataract surgery.
The retired actor also talked about how he and his partner Csilla got married in 1967 and promised her that they would celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in three years with "some special, intimate party".
She is a wonderful woman, without whom I would hardly have such a memorable career behind me

He would not miss the matches of two football teams, but he is sad because of the division of the country
In this regard, he also revealed that "theater and acting are everything to me, but I no longer desire them. I don't go to any theater. I prefer to watch TV at home until I fall asleep next to it. But if they broadcast a Fradi or Liverpool game, I wouldn't miss it!"
The actor said that he and his wife, two children and four grandchildren celebrated his birthday as a family, in fact even the previous weekend (although regardless of the birthday, they often get together for Sunday lunches.
Family gatherings are regular. I receive a lot of love from them, and I drew strength from them even in the fight against illness. The most important thing is family, especially now, in this confused world that surrounds us
- he said, finally talking about: "The most important thing is the family, especially now, in this confused world that surrounds us. I am saddened by the division of the country. We Hungarians are unable to live in peace. I am alarmed by the war raging near us, which is clearly about the power of money and the arms trade. Anyone who has faced a serious illness can appreciate a hundred times how good it would be to live in peace. In fact, to live.”
