In several districts of the left-liberal-led capital, many people complain about problems arising from homelessness and drug addiction.
In the recent period, the IX. has caused a huge source of tension. in the district, that thanks to the left-liberal city management, the homeless can live anywhere, which is also associated with serious public safety and public health problems - said Ferencváros's governing party local government representative, Andrea Gyurákovics.
The worsening of the homeless issue is also the responsibility of Baranyi's city administration.
"Previously, there was a separate group at the public space supervision that dealt with the homeless, and the district also employed homeless people, but unfortunately, this well-established system was destroyed by Krisztina Baranyi with her one-man rule during the pandemic period, among the first measures," Gyurákovics pointed out, then he added: this now has visible consequences, as public safety is deteriorating rapidly in many neighborhoods.
The XIV. In the district, in Zugló, the situation is no better, despite the fact that, in addition to the district's record budget of 51 billion, the human resources would be sufficient for meaningful progress.
According to Ádám Borbély, the government representative of the district, unfortunately, despite this, it can be seen that the actual security situation has not improved, and the subjective sense of security is particularly bad in many public areas of the district.
"It is not recommended to walk in some parts of the district after dark. Here I am among the first to mention Örs vezér square and Bosnyák square, but we can also think of the area around the Kacsóh Pongrác út overpass or Rákosrendező, and the list could be continued for a long time. Instead of solving the problems, the leaders of the district are still pointing the finger at the government, assuming zero responsibility, while the locals have to endure the public safety and public health problems associated with the homeless people in the district," highlighted Ádám Borbély. He believes that the left-wing Soros organizations bear a lot of responsibility for the situation.
Unlivable conditions are starting to develop in some areas in Zugló in the recent period. Next to the Francia út railway embankment, a tin town has developed in the immediate vicinity of the residential buildings, while the municipal apartment buildings are getting worse and worse due to the lack of development.
"It's hard to imagine what conditions prevail, for example, in some houses on Mexikói út and Várna utca, in the middle of Zugló. The socialist district administration was only interested in receiving votes from these places during the elections, but they do not have any concrete ideas regarding the fate of the people living here," said Ádám Borbély. He pointed out that all of the successful urban planning projects in the district are state-owned: the renovation of the Városliget area, the restoration of the Puskás Arena and its green surroundings, the government investment in Bosnyák tér or the rehabilitation of the Rákosrendező.
According to Demeter Szilágyi, the local government representative of Józsefváros, people's subjective sense of security in the district has definitely started to deteriorate in recent years.
Talking to people on the street, they clearly say that their sense of security has deteriorated.
"The concerns of the locals are supported by the police data, according to which 30 percent more crimes were committed in Józsefváros last year than in 2019. "According to the statistics, these are typically crimes that could be curbed with municipal and law enforcement measures," the politician stated. In his opinion, the local government has the right, opportunity and obligation to deal with public safety in the district.
However, the left-liberal city government is now subsidizing the police with half as much as in 2019, despite the fact that the number of crimes in the district is constantly increasing.
"In addition, the local government has the obligation to perform public safety tasks through the supervision of public areas. And here it would be necessary for the public area inspectors to not only show up somewhere when they have to handcuff the wheels, but also to take action against people drinking or under the influence of other drugs in public areas," said Demeter Szilágyi. He recalled that the Pikó-type city management also revoked the municipal decrees passed earlier, which expressly forbade the homeless to live in the forecourts of apartment buildings or in cars, thus further worsening the chances that the law enforcement officers would be able to prevent such situations and, in some cases, eliminate them. .
According to Szilveszter Dobronyi, the local Fidesz spokesperson, the deterioration of public safety in the past two years is due to the fact that the municipality does not try to intervene or intervene.
In the past, there was a precedent that the municipality set up a body that tried to deal with the conditions, but they were unsuccessful, and the situation is only getting worse.
"The situation wasn't too rosy before, but now we have reached the point where you can't feel safe even during the day when you walk through the streets of Csepel, because of homeless people and other people under the influence of alcohol," the spokesperson pointed out. He pointed out: posts on online forums where locals complain about the state of public safety are almost a daily occurrence.
The VII. According to Zsolt Benedek, the municipal representative of the district, public safety in Erzsébetváros is in ruins, and the left-liberal city administration, contrary to its promises, has only made the situation worse.
"On the issue of the party district, the left is essentially fired up. In relation to the quarter, no measures were clearly taken that Péter Niedermüller had promised in the campaign. In essence, the residents of Belső-Erzsébetváros were deceived by the left and Péter Niedermüller during the local government campaign in 2019," the politician emphasized. He recalled that the closing at midnight was not introduced, and no progress was made in terms of public safety, and as a result, not a month goes by without some serious crime taking place in Erzsébetváros.
In Terézváros, which is considered a very popular and frequented place by tourists, more and more places are showing signs of neglect.
Viktor Lindmayer, the leader of the Fidesz faction in Terézváros, reported that public spaces have become disorderly in recent years, and as a result, people's subjective sense of security has also begun to deteriorate.
"It can be said that the district is a relatively frequented district of Budapest, so it is not possible to detect a serious deterioration of public safety in the district. It's much more to see that disorderly conditions prevail in certain parts of the city," Lindmayer pointed out.
