With Sándor Petőfi, we can take a hike on eight adventure trails on the border of the real and virtual worlds using the Digital Wanderer application.
The free-to-download Digital Wanderer application connects the tangible reality of nature walks and cultural walks with virtual reality. From the revolutionary long weekend, you can walk along the common paths of the Hungarian Literature Memorial Houses and Aktív Hungary, which invite you on a literary and nature trip.
Exciting episodes of Petőfi's life are revealed to hikers on each of the eight routes.
The free-to-download Digital Wanderer application connects the tangible reality of nature walks and cultural walks with virtual reality. For each path, you have to travel to the given location and follow the designated route from station to station. During the journey, the visitor not only receives authentic information, but can also test his knowledge with quiz questions and puzzles, and he may even get lucky with virtual characters in the form of AR (virtual reality).
The paths are linked to the locations of the Petőfi memorial houses renovated during the 200th anniversary of the poet's birth.
In Borjád, Dömsöd, Dunavecs, Kiskőrös, Kiskunfélegyháza, Mezőberény, Sárszentlőrinc and Szalkszentmárton, we can follow the path of the poet.
Petőfi himself visited each of the settlements for a longer or shorter time: in addition to the locations of his birth, growing up, his student days, and the later residences of his parents, we can accompany him on one or two trips and send him on his way before his last, fatal journey.
Each tour has seven stations: at each of them, interesting information and visual content (art works, the poet's objects, manuscripts) are displayed on the screen, and a puzzle related to Petőfi also tests the literary knowledge and creativity of the hikers. In all cases, the tours focus on Petőfi's local presence and related poems, while also reflecting on local traditions, sights, and interesting things.
Virtual reality (AR) shows visitors what memorial houses or pictures have not preserved. This is how you can meet a hussar, a plain gray cattle, but also the evil witch of the valiant János appears on the phone screen.
The application can be downloaded for free from Google Play and Apple Store. The Digital Wanderer contains more than 80 trails that show the country's various natural values and cultural attractions.
