A Trump-Biden rematch is almost certain in November, but are the Republicans prepared for all eventualities? Written by Zsolt Jeszenszky.
"We put our chips on Trump," Viktor Orbán said in connection with the US presidential election. Hungary's sovereignist policy, ending the war in Ukraine, stopping illegal migration all largely depend on whether Trump succeeds in winning. But will it succeed? And how are you doing?
According to public opinion polls, he is doing well, leading by a ratio of 52:48. If we look at the elections of the past decades and the surveys that preceded them, we see that a reigning president has never been able to turn from such a disadvantage. So this is encouraging for him.
From here, the Trump-Biden rematch in November is almost certain. Unless the latter joins his voters, i.e. the dead. But the morbid joke aside, it is possible that Biden will be withdrawn by the Democrats by then. Let's say the doctors, who until now claimed that he was healthy, suddenly find that his cognitive decline is already endangering the performance of his duties. Or it "falls" by accident.
And then the Democrats suddenly pull Michelle Obama out of a bag. And next to him, Gavin Newsom, governor of California, is nominated for vice president. The name is known, the brand is good. The entire Hollywood elite, the entire media, all the woke business leaders stand behind him... Well, Trump would have a harder time with this opponent.
And although this version goes completely against American political traditions, the practice of primary elections, it is legally possible."
