"Hungarianness is a very small island in the sea of peoples, yet we have given the world a lot of excellence," said Zoltán Lomnici, citing as examples Nobel laureate Katalin Karikó, Olympic champion soccer player Jenő Buzánszky, quarterback of the Golden Team, as well as Marit Törőcsik, Anna Jókai, Sándor Kányádi and József Schweitzer.
Zoltán Lomnici emphasized that the Oscar is a very exceptional recognition, which is why we can be proud of many of our compatriots who have received awards in the past and of Zsuzsa Mihalek, who received an Oscar this year.
Presenting the awardee's life journey, Zoltán Lomnici recalled that Zsuzsa Mihalek was already attracted to the film industry at the age of 17, and already then she decided to become a set decorator. In 1986, an advertisement in Expressz newspaper opened the way for him to a career as a set designer, after which he achieved considerable success in a short time. His work is praised, for example, by the films Csinibaba, Argo and Made in Hungária.
"Although he is still very young, we can award a lifetime achievement" . His work and the prizes he won bring joy to all of us - said Zoltán Lomnici, adding that human dignity is enriched when such excellences live among us and enhance the reputation of our country.
Miklós Szunai, the president of the Human Dignity Council, said at the presentation of the award that
Zsuzsa Mihalek is awarded the Human Dignity award for her high-quality work, her successful career and her latest, most prestigious international recognition. His life path is a role model for future generations
he emphasized.
Upon accepting the award, Zsuzsa Mihalek said that she was very happy and proud that she was even thought of in connection with such an award.
In this way, a little light can again be cast on the professionals working in the background of the film industry and they can also come to the fore, he added.
In the past decade and a half, the Council of Human Dignity has honored numerous artists, scientists, and athletes, personalities who have done a lot for human dignity.
