Mária Érdi, who is preparing for the Paris Olympics, won the ILCA 6 boat class competition at the sailors' World Cup stop in Mallorca.
According to the social media page of the Hungarian association, the MVM SE world and European champion athlete expected the medal race of the 53rd Trofeo Princesa Sofia on Saturday with a 14-point lead. He finished ninth in this, but that was enough for him to win the gold medal in the field of 114 boats.
In the ILCA 7 boat class, Jonatán Vadnai, who also has an Olympic quota, finished 25th.
The program of the WC competition that started on Monday followed the Olympic system, that is, the final result was based on the results of ten races and the medal race.
