While, according to press reports, the party director of the MSZP, involved in the corruption scandal, is relaxing from the turbulence of political life at Lake Balaton, the Sopron organization of the socialist party was so upset with the national leadership that it dissolved itself, and its members left the formation, reports the Mandiner.

The local MSZP president was upset

Tamás Széplaki, the veteran local politician and leader of the MSZP, reported on this on his Facebook page. As he stated in his impassioned post , the most serious decision of the local organization, which was established 35 years ago, was made because "for us, both the manner and the content of the decision made by the party's national presidency, Mayor Adrienn Jakál (Párbeszéd) is unacceptable, both humanly and politically. on his candidacy".

In Sopron, even before the previous local government election in 2019, the local left was at each other's throats, but the current development adds to the disputes of that time.

Széplaki doesn't mince words: "We consider Adrienn Jakál's personality unacceptable, which is why we can't even support her. We said this several times and made a decision about it, which the national leadership also knew. For us, leftism, morality, morality, the given word, empathy, solidarity, respect for others, trustworthiness and authenticity are the most important basic values, we have always participated in local public life based on these principles."

On the other hand, according to him, under the pressure of Gergely Karácsony, Ágnes Kunhalmi, Imre Komjáthi, István Hiller and the already mentioned Zsolt Molnár, despite the will of the local organization of the MSZP, are running as a candidate for mayor of Sopron.

Incidentally, only DK and P prominent figures were present at the presentation of the joint aspirant. Richárd Barabás, the co-chairman of the Párbeszéd, said that Adrienn Jakál is "one of the most loyal politicians" , while Erzsébet Gy. Németh, the vice-chairman of the DK, talked about the fact that the candidate aggressively and environmentally conscious stands up for issues important to the people of Sopron.
