The media professional was promised that he would no longer be a porter.
"One of the greatest moments of my life was the 2002 Kossuth square rally. He has every moment, there was an amazing euphoria that day," Philip Rákay recalled the events of 22 years ago, as a guest of János Fiala's KeljFelJancsi talk show, he confessed honestly why he had to leave the music channel more than two decades ago.
The media expert recalled: after four years of Fidesz rule in April 2002, between the two rounds of the elections, the ruling party held a general assembly, the event was hosted by Philip Rákay. He said in the program:
he wouldn't give that day for anything, regardless of the fact that his life took a completely different direction after that because of his political involvement.
The presenter also quoted a previous speech by Philip, in which he talked about:
"One of my fellow presenters, who is very well-known and still popular today, called together the management of ZeneTV, inciting almost the entire crew against me, asking the CEO to account for why they don't fire him immediately, because he is allegedly being Nazisized because of me."
Who was that? - asked János Fiala, to which Philip Rákay answered: Lilu.
When asked if he thought about the possibility of retaliation after his performance in 2002, the media expert explained:
In 2002, Fidesz had no media, and the leaders of the Hungarian media world did not agree with Fidesz, and I put it delicately then. I knew exactly that this would not be without consequences. I got phone calls from important people in the media who said:
as long as they are in position, I will not be a porter either
- said Philip Rákay, then added that his close colleagues also turned against him.
